The Wave
My friend shared an idea a few weeks ago. The idea is both brilliant and simple, the very best kind of idea, the kind worth sharing. Thank you, Gayle, for allowing me to share.
As I said, the idea is simple. At exactly noon every day, we pause and pray for peace, in whatever way we pray, for one minute.
Imagine if the whole world did this! I imagine prayer rising like “the wave” we see at football games, as noon strikes from time zone to time zone, around the globe. Imagine the energy produced by that wave of prayer!
I’ve incorporated this practice into my daily life by setting the alarm on my phone to sound every day at noon. Then I pray for peace. It’s so simple. I admit, I don’t always have even a full minute to pray. I might be in the middle of giving a talk, or on a call. But the alarm goes off, and my mind sends at least a quick prayer into the universe for peace, with the words, “we need peace.” And when I do have the minute, I breathe with all the beings on the planet and pray that we all find and live peace.
So I invite you into the wave. Wherever you are on our mother the Earth, stop if you can for one minute at noon each day and pray for peace. If you don’t have a minute, turn your mind for even a few seconds to peace. Pray in whatever way is comfortable for you. I’m hoping that our prayer will swell with our numbers, and the pure energy of our prayer will be felt in every country, every town, every home, until strife is replaced by the peace we so need.

Thank you for sharing this Denise.Great idea Gayle!
I have set my phone alarm too and as you say may be in the middle of something - but send a quick prayer, upheld by knowing members of my faith community are praying too!
What a great idea! setting my alarm now too.
