How lovely to join you in this walk, Denise. Today I will ask my heart to ponder what flowers in my life have been mowed over, which ones will surprise me if I tend to them a little.

Thanks, Gayle. And thank you for voicing the beautiful reality that plants are vessels of our memories. We have a Japanese Maple that we brought up from Scott's childhood home on Long Island when his mom sold the house. It lives as a memorial to her, and as a vessel of the memories we are making here, in our own home.

I can see (I mean smell) Helen's garden through your words, Denise! Love "an armful of summer"

Thank you for this beautiful remembrance today, Denise. When I tend the garden at the beach filled with phlox, tiger lilies and fern that my mother-in-law "harvested" along the back roads of Ontario farmland, it reminds me that I am a caretaker of her legacy.
